Description
There exist physical processes, e.g. in energetic heavy ion collisions, where the time scale of the process is not sufficiently long to reach complete thermal equilibrium. The authors show a way to extend the thermodynamical formalism for nonequilibrium situations. The results are compatible with continuum mechanics. (author)
