Spatial distribution of potential natural vegetation of Slovakia, the main component of which is the forest vegetation represents the basis of the vegetational (phytogeographical) division. Climate-determined zones and sub-zones are distinguished and they are further broken into smaller spatial units based on the soil-substrate and hydrological conditions. (author)
