Description
The hemangioma cavernosum is a frequent, benign tumor of the liver. A new, very sensitive isotope diagnostical method, the three-phase blood-pool scintigraphy which is based on the labelling of erythrocytes with 99mTc is discussed. In comparison with the conventional planar scintigraphy, SPECT has a great adventage by increasing the resolution of images and introducing the three-dimensional imaging. The examination of liver hemangioma was carried out by an MB 9300 SPECT equipment using 300 MBq 99mTc pertechnetate. As an example, a case study is presented. (author) 15 refs.; 5 figs
