Description
X-ray beam of 130-140 kVp is used for Computed Tomography scanning in medical diagnosis. Knowledge of the effective energy of the x-ray beam used for CT diagnosis is important because the calibration of CT numbers, which are values assigned to picture elements of the reconstructed CT image is done on this basis. A change in effective energy can, therefore, affect the original calibration and thereby the quantitative applications of CT numbers in CT examinations
