FEL project in Frascati INFN Laboratories with the linear superconducting accelerator LISA
Description
This paper describes a test superconducting electron linear accelerator facility, termed LISA, which is being constructed at the Frascati INFN National Laboratories. The characteristics of the electron beam are described together with the undulator and the expected performance of the FEL. Attention is also given to future developments, such as energy doubling, energy recovery, and third harmonic operations, which will be introduced to realize a high-power high-efficiency FEL. Schematics of the LISA layout are presented. 6 refs
