Nuclear reactor
Description
Purpose: To maintain a high capturing efficiency of a radioactive nuclide capturing means for a long period of time by preventing the corrosions in the radioactive nuclide capturing means and deposition of non-radioactive nuclides to the capturing means. Constitution: When a pump is operated in a FBR type reactor, liquid sodium is circulated through a main circulating path including a reactor main vessel - pipeway - intermediate heat exchanger - pipeway - reactor main vessel. Through the circulation, the capturing device captures a considerable amount of radioactive nuclides transferred from the reactor core into liquid sodium. In this case, since the capturing device is disposed to the downstream of an intermediate heat exchanger at a low liquid sodium temperature, that is, below the reactor core, corrosion is less likely to occur. Further, since the capturing device is disposed at the furthest position in the moving path of the non-radioactive nuclides detached from the upper portion of the reactor core, there is a less possibility that the non-radioactive nuclides are deposited to the capturing device.
