Creep and creep-rupture properties of Type 316 stainless steel cladding tubes for the experimental fast breeder reactor JOYO

  • 1. National Research Inst. for Metals, Tokyo

Description

Creep and creep-rupture tests under a biaxial loading condition obtained by internally pressurizing with argon gas and uniaxial tension were performed in the unirradiated and atmospheric condition of four heats of Type 316 stainless steel cladding tubes for the Experimental Fast Breeder Reactor JOYO at test temperatures of 600, 650, 700, and 7500C. The data obtained were analyzed by a statistical procedure using the Larson-Miller parameter. The correlation between the results of the biaxial loading tests and those of the uniaxial tension tests was examined. The present data were also compared with the other standard creep-rupture data on the same material
