Examination of geometric performance data for the Philips SL 18 linear accelerator

Description
The examinations of geometric performance data confirmed the necessity of this measure. Deviations of occasionally considerable proportions were seen in the congruence tests of light and irradiation fields, due to which fact the counterlateral irradiation fields, too, were less defined than they should have been. These results point to the need for performance data to be examined more frequently than recommended in the DIN 6847 T.5 standard. (orig./HP)

Die Pruefung geometrischer Qualitaetsmerkmale bestaetigte die Notwendigkeit dieser Kontrollen. Zum Teil erhebliche Abweichungen wurden bei der Uebereinstimmung von Licht- und Bestrahlungsfeld und damit zusammenhaengend der Kongruenz der Gegenfelder festgestellt. Konsequenz dieser Ergebnisse muss eine haeufigere Kontrolle dieser Qualitaetsmerkmale sein, als in der Norm DIN 6847 T.5 empfohlen. (orig./HP)Additional details
