Mercury Ap binary 66 Eridani

Description

The spectroscopic binary system 66 Eri is remarkable in that its components appear to be nearly identical in mass, luminosity, and state of evolution (B9 V), while one of them exhibits a striking overabundance of mercury, yttrium, and chromium, and the other appears to be normal. A new spectroscopic orbit is presented, and photometric observations were made in search of an eclipse. No evidence of an eclipse was found
