Description

The chirped pulse amplification (CPA) technique is used for the injection of the ultra-intense laser PETAL inside the Megajoule laser. A new compact, reliable and simple system has been designed, it is still based on CPA technique but it is made of optical fibers and uses a process of energy transfer between laser waves. For an available energy of about 1 micro-joule per impulse, the amplification gain can reach 105 which is a record for the CPA technique. (A.C.)
