Improvement of the track reconstruction and topology recognition in the photoproduction experiment WA69
Description
In the framework of the diploma thesis different studies on the program TRIDENT were performed which had the following content. 1) Study of the hitherto treatment of the multiple scattering and introduction of a better estimation of the multiple-scattering errors during the track fit and at the beginning of the vertex fit. 2) Furthermore the possibility was studied to design a software trigger for the preselection of the raw data. 3) As final topic the data processing of the product version of the TRIDENT program at the Bonn University computing center RHRZ has been prepared. For this the read-in routines of the TRIDENT were changed and the program so implemented in a software environment that an effective working can be guaranteed also without access to magnetic tapes and by this the operation conditions of the RHRZ are fulfilled. Im Rahmen der Diplomarbeit wurden verschiedene Studien ueber das Programm TRIDENT angefertigt, die im einzelnen folgenden Inhalt hatten. 1) Untersuchung der bisherigen Behandlung der Vielfachstreuung und Einfuehrung einer besseren Abschaetzung der Vielfachstreufehler waehrend des Spurfits und zu Beginn des Vertexfits. 2) Untersucht wurde weiterhin die Moeglichkeit, einen Softwaretrigger zur Vorselektion der Rohdaten zu entwerfen. 3) Als abschliessender Punkt ist die Datenverarbeitung der Produktionsversion des TRIDENT Programms am Bonner Hochschulrechenzentrum RHRZ vorbereitet worden. Dazu wurden die Einleseroutinen des TRIDENT abgeaendert und das Programm so in eine Softwareumgebung eingebettet, dass eine effektive Arbeit auch ohne direkten Zugriff auf Magnetbaender gewaehrleistet werden kann, und damit den Betriebsbedingungen des RHRZ Rechnung getragen ist.
