Progress on TEXTOR-94: radiative-improved-mode and radio-frequency plasma production in the ion cyclotron range

Description
Two recent innovations on TEXTOR-94 are described, (i) Operation with a radiative edge at high confinement (the so-called Radiative Improved Mode or RI-Mode) and (i i) Production of plasma, in presence of the toroidal magnetic field, for wall cleaning or conditioning purposes or start-up assistance, using the ion cyclotron heating radio-frequency system
