Experimental purex flowsheet studies of small scale pulsed columns

Description
Using the MINKA installation consisting of three pulsed sieve plate columns, joint extractional behaviour of U and Pu under conditions, greatly differing from the standard ones for the cycle of joint purification in the purex process, is investigated. The content of uranium and plutonium in the initial solution constituted 256 g/l and 2.31 g/l respectively, concentration NHO3 - 2.96 M; extraction was realied by 30% TBP. Concentrational profiles of U and Pu at different flow rate ratios are presented. It is shown that plutonium losses depend on the ratio of flow rates. 3 refs.; 3 figs
