Some aspects of slow crack growth in htdrided Zr--2.5 % Nb alloys
Description
Subcritical crack growth in Zr-2.5 percent Nb alloy pressure tubes was studied. A model to account for crack growth is presented based on an expression for the flux of H atoms to the crack tip due to the local chemical potential gradient which results in the dissolution of hydride remote from the crack tip and precipitation on existing hydride at the crack tip
