Application of nonaqueous solvents with low electron - donOr ability in synthesis of complexes in particular transition metals and uranium, is reviewed. Ion exchange in nonaqueous solvents is widely used especially in synthesis of chelate and bridge complexes as well as compounds with metal - metal, metal-4-group-element bonds RT
