Description

Cadmium ferrite and 5% Sm3+ added cadmium ferrite were prepared by oxalate co-precipitation method. The samples were characterized by XRD, and SEM techniques. The X-ray diffraction measurements confirm the formation of single phase cubic spinel structure. The orthoferrite phase was observed in Sm3+ added CdFe2O4. Lattice constant, crystallite size and grain size were affected by additions of Sm3+ ions. DC resistivity of CdFe2O4 increases by addition Sm3+ ions. (author)
