Description
The processes of the fourth generation molten salt reactors are described. First the fuel cycle, the fission products and the reactor toxins are shown. Among the advantages of the molten salt reactor it is emphasized that the reactor material and the coolant are the same liquid. The second part describes the reprocessing of the molten salt reactor material, that is the extraction into liquid metals, the helium bubbling to remove rare gas products, the removal of protactinium with its characteristic processing times, fluorinating the salt and adding new fission material in the same process. The author points out the importance and the advantages of the integrated reactor, reprocessing and recharging processes.
