Description

The effect is investigated of repeated annealing treatments on the magnetic diffusion after-effect in the amorphous alloy Fe40Ni40P14B6 using measurements of disaccommodation and induced magnetic anisotropy. The process of varying the magnitude of the disaccommodation maximum due to annealing at various temperatures is repeatable. It is found that evidently the maximum attainable disaccommodation effect decreases with each annealing cycle. Using the damping of free torsional vibrations of the sample in the saturating magnetic field no relaxation effect of induced magnetic anisotropy may be found. There are given two possibilities of interpretation of the observed behaviour. (author)
