Effect of external stresses on gabitus plane orientation and plate substructure of stress martensite in iron base alloys

Description

Effect of external stresses on gabitus plane orientation and substructure and orientation ratio of stress martensite is analysed. It is shown withip the framework of the thermodynamic theory how a relative share of twin components of a martensite plate must change in an external stress field: this variation is proportional to the stress valUe and Schmid factor for the system of secondary martensite twinning. Accordingly gabitus orientation and orientation ratio change. Results of electronmicroscopic investigation agree well with theoretical conclusions
