Measurement of the absolute oscillators strengths of the spectral lines of erbium

Description

The absolute values of the oscillator strength f were measured for the spectral lines of erbium (lambda1=386.285 nm, lambda2=400.797 nm, lambda3=415.111 nm) by means of the absorption method with the atomic beam acting as an absorbent. The product Nl of the atomic density of the absorbing beam N and of the thickness of the absorbing layer l was measured with an electronic microbalance. The values of f which were obtained are: 0.56+-0.14,0.71+-0.18,0.39+-0.10 respectively. (Auth.)
