X-ray-phase analysis of cake from processing of boron and aluminosilicate raw materials with sodium sulphate

Description

The article presents the results of X-ray phase analysis of cake from the processing of borosilicates of the Ak-Arkhar Deposit and aluminosilicate raw materials of Turpi nepheline syenites with sodium sulfate. Possible chemical transformations in sintering process have been defined. The mechanisms of opening and interaction between minerals in the melt, as well as their phase transformations during heat treatment, have been determined. Based on the obtained results of X-ray phase analysis, it has been found that the essence of chemical transformations during sintering of boron and aluminosilicate ores with sodium sulfate is that all minerals containing crystallization water are dehydrated and their framework structure is destroyed. With the loss of bound water, they also lose silica, forming calcium and magnesium borates, which decompose in solutions of mineral acids and, thereby, ensure the maximum extraction of the constituent components at the level of 96-98%.
