Improvement of Severe Accident Analysis Computer Code and Development of Accident Management Guidance for Heavy Water Reactor

Description

The most important final output in the project is a validated generic SAMG (Severe Accident Management Guidance) which can be used directly for the plant specific SAMG development in Wolsong plants. The generic SAMG applicable for domestic PHWRs which is developed by KAERI through this project using the overall severe accident base technology will provide the basis for plant specific SAMG development by utility company (KHNP). In addition, ISAAC 3.0 version is issued with SAM evaluation and GUI functions which are needed for the quantification during the validation process. As the only domestic code for the PHWR severe accident analysis, the ISAAC is unavoidably being used for the living PSA, severe accident analysis, SAM program development and operator training in PHWR. The ISAAC 3.0 with improved models and enhanced GUI functions can be used as support calculation tools for the plant specific SAMG (which is expected to be addressed by KHNP after June 2007) and RIMS level 2 PSA because it can provide more accurate models and user friendly environments
