Pyroelectric properties of BaBO4 and KTiOPO4 crystals

Description
Results of measuring changes in spontaneous polarization and pyroeffect in BaBO4 (BBO) and KTiOPO4 (KTP) crystals in the region of 5-380 K temperatures are presented. Anomalies conditioned by defect presence in the lattice are detected in actual KTP monocrystals at T < 12 K. Acoustic and optical mode contributions to pyrocoefficient values are estimated within the framework of Debye and Einstein models. Effective values of Debye and Einstein temperatures are calculated. Values of BBO and KTP spontaneous polarization are calculated by data of optic and pyroelectric measurements. Structural features of pyroelectrics studies are discussed. 19 refs., 6 figs., 2 tabs
