NNC gives high marks to Sizewell B's Primary Protection System

NNC (National Nuclear Corporation) provides general support to Nuclear Electric on the design of the Sizewell B PWR. The design includes a Primary Protection System (PPS) which uses microprocessors and a Secondary Protection System using solid state devices. As part of its support work, NNC has performed a 100% verification of the PPS software design, documentation, code and data for Nuclear Electric's PWR Project Group. NNC's assessment indicated a standard of design and implementation and of reliability fully on a par with past protection systems. (Author)
