Size distribution of natural radioactive and atmospheric aerosols

A size distribution of the natural radioactive and atmospheric aerosols was investigated. The mobility spectrum of the radioactive aeroions was measured by the aspiration counter and the aeroions radioactivity by the low-background device UMF-1500 M. The mobility spectrum of atmospheric aeroions was measured by the ion counter IT-7008. On the basis of the results obtained a conclusion was made that the radioactive aerosols were generated as a result of the attachment of radioactive atoms to the aerosol particles. The results of investigation showed that there were no essential differences in the size distributions of the radioactive and atmospheric aerosols. An annual course of ksub(α) of the semideserts zone and its temporal variations during 1963-1978 for the different geographical regions of U.S.S.R. were given
