Description

A comprehensive description of all aspects involved in radioactive waste management in the German Democratic Republic is given in the report SAAS-381 (1990) 'The management of radioactive wastes produced by the application of atomic energy in the German Democratic Republic'. In preparation for the unification of Germany, the study of the procedures practiced at the Morsleben radioactive waste repository since 1978, in connection with the Reactor Safety Commission's safety criteria adopted in 1983, and the many-sided IAEA recommendations, gave rise to many interesting subjects of discussion, both from the point of view of radiation protection and the completely different licensing procedures. Abstract (German)

Eine umfassende Darstellung aller mit der Entsorgung von radioaktiven Abprodukten in der ehemaligen DDR zusammenhaengenden Fragen, ist enthalten in dem Report SAAS-381 (1990) 'Die Entsorgung von radioaktiven Abprodukten aus der Anwendung der Atomenergie in der DDR'. In Vorbereitung der Vereinigung Deutschlands ergaben sich viele fachlich interessante Diskussionspunkte bei der Pruefung der mit dem Endlager Morsleben seit 1978 praktizierten Verfahrensweisen der Beseitigung radioaktiver Abfaelle im Kontext mit den 1983 herausgegebenen RSK-Sicherheitskriterien und den vielgestaltigen IAEA-Empfehlungen zur Endlagerung radioaktiver Abfaelle unter Strahlenschutzgesichtspunkten einerseits und hinsichtlich der voellig unterschiedlichen Genehmigungsverfahren andererseits.
