Nuclear fuel material manufacturing method

Description

Oxides mainly comprising UO2 are used as a powder having the grain size of less than 60 μ m, gadolinia powders are mixed to the oxide powder, then they are molded and sintered. With such procedures, the gadolinia powders can be mixed uniformly to the oxide powder by a simple mixing. Nuclear fuel materials molded and sintered by using resultant powder mixture can provide uniform solid solutions having less free UO2 and Gd2O3. (T.M.)
