Description

Having prepared low melting temperature gold-cadmium alloys by a non-conventional recipe directly from cadmium ores, we expect a possible contamination of the alloys by oxygen, carbon, and sulphur. The non-destructive nuclear (d, p) reaction is used for the quantitative study of these contaminants, while dynamic secondary ion mass spectrometry gives the relative depth profile of these light elements in the alloys.
