Supplement α-cuts Approach for Unique Optimum Structural Design With Fuzzy Resources
Description
For dealing with optimization problems containing fuzzy resources, the specific final design depends on a predetermined α value; however, it is not easy by the designer. This paper presents an alternative α-cut method in which a unique α value can be obtained in the optimization process. This method has been illustrated and applied on a fuzzy structural design problem given in this paper. The presenting method is nearly analogy to the existing λ-formulation; however, it is developed on the basis of the original α-cut concept
