Plasma experiments relevant for the physical basis of self-organization

Description
Investigations performed on the spontaneous formation of space-temporal patterns in laboratory plasmas have emphasized a new physical scenario able to create order out of chaos. Grounded on the collective effects of the quantum processes, this scenario explains the appearance of self-consistent space charge configuration whose self-sustained dynamics is at the origin of ordered and disordered temporal patterns. Although discovered in plasma this self-organization scenario could contribute essentially to the understanding of the mystery how orderlines can be created in laboratory and nature against the second law of the thermodynamics.
