Possibilities of the spectrometry of resonance backscattering of light ions

Description

The authors consider the details and certain possibilities of using Rutherford backscattering of light ions when the scattering cross section of the ions is given by an isolated resonance. It is concluded that resonance scattering supplements and substantially expands the possibilities of the conventional methods of nuclear microanalysis and nondestructive monitoring. The method is still very promising for investigations of light matrices (carbides and oxides and metals, silicon compounds, etc.) and can be used for solving a number of problems in reactor materials science
