Description

This paper presents results of theoretical studies of the generation and propagation of nonlinear waves in deformable pipes containing liquid undergoing cavitational resonance vibration, on the free surface of liquids, in thick plates undergoing fracture by a thermooptical pulse, in solids of revolution acted upon by a lateral shock, and in metallic plates. The possibility of intensification of thermal waves in materials is also analyzed. The effect of cavitation on the behavior of the liquid and the dynamic strength of structures which are widely used in heat and power engineering, atomic energy, and cryogenics is stressed
