Criteria for clinical efficacy of radiotherapy in a clinic
Description
Statistic results of malignant tumor treatment (lung cancer and uterine cervix cancer) with the method of radiation therapy are presented. These results have been used to consider the main effectiveness criteria of radiation therapy as the basic method of radical treatment. They are: 1)local-regional tumor treatment; 2)patient survival; 3)recurrences and time of their development; 4)radiation complications. The above clinic criteria of estimating radiation therapy effectiveness are shown to be necessary to obtain objective quantitative indexes which characterize the further progress of radiation therapy in oncology and permit to prognose remote effects on the basis of immediate results of treatment
