Comparative analysis of different recommendations for measurements of absorbed doses of photon and electron radiation

  • 1. Tsentral'nyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Rentgeno-Radiologicheskij Inst., Leningrad (Russian Federation)

Description

The authors compare the results of measurements of photon and electron radiation absorbed doses in water, making use of radiodosimetry and the major reference metrologic documents valid abroad. They show the advantages of ionizing chambers calibration for absorbed dose units in the water. The total error of measurements of absorbed dose in the water if determined by dosimetry is ±2.5% for 60Co γ-radiation, ±2.8% for inhibition radiation, ±3.7% for electron radiation, wheras the values for the methods used abroad are by 0.5-0.7% higher on an average. The values of absorbed radiation doses estimated by various methods were in good correlation
