The influence of cationic micelles on the dismutation of Br2--radical anions in aqueous solution

Description
The retarding effect of the tenside hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide on the dismutation of Br2- radicals was investigated. Br2- radicals adsorbed singly at different micells do not directly react with each other. The detachment of Br2- is required. A residence time of 1.5.(period on line)10-5 s of Br2- on the micelles was derived from the kinetic data. Below the critical micelle concentration the tenside does not retard the reaction. Abstract (German)
Die verzoegernde Wirkung des Tensids Hexadecyl-trimethyl-ammoniumbromid auf die Dismutation des Br2--Radikals wurde untersucht. Br2--Radikale, die einzelne an verschiedenen Mizellen adsorbiert sind reagieren nicht direkt miteinander. Die Abloesung des Br2- ist erforderlich. Die Residenzzeit des Br2- an den Mizellen wurde aus den kinetischen Daten zu 1.5.(period on line)10-5s bestimmt. Unterhalb der kritischen Mizellkonzentrationen uebt das Tensid keine verzoegernde Wirkung aus. (orig.)Additional details
