Indium phosphate solid state detector for low energy neutrino detection
Description
Status of the development of InP solid state detectors(SSD), one of our present effort on low energy neutrino detectors, is presented. We have succeeded to make an InP SSD with an ability to count 60 keV γ-rays. We have measured its capacitance, thickness of the depletion layer and responses to α and γ-rays. The InP SSD would be a good candidate for low energy gamma and neutrino detectors at room temperature with a future improvement of the quality of the crystal and the size of the detector. This is a first report on the success of the InP particle detectors in the world
