Shielding design considerations for a high energy neutron source facility

Description

The design of a high energy neutron source facility to provide several radiation environments will require detailed calculations of the radiation shielding requirements for the protection of both personnel and equipment. In this work, the importance of the characterization of the radiation sources and of improved nuclear data are stressed. Also, the most relevant radiation shielding issues as well as guidelines for the various calculations that should be performed are discussed. (author)
