Special graphite seal in nuclear power engineering
Description
The basic properties are listed of Grafoil, a sealing compound which has so far been imported to Czechoslovakia. The technology of production from expanded graphite was tested in laboratory conditions. Seals manufactured from domestic natural graphite and designed for WWER-440 reactors were subjected to long-term laboratory tests, including pressure (p=0-18 MPa) and thermal (t=20-350 degC) cycles. The seals satisfied all requirements. Examples are described in detail of aplying the seals in flange joints, valves and machines. (E.S.). 4 figs., 1 ref
