Breathers of the scalar nonlinear Schroedinger equation

Description
The evolution of a multi soliton solution to the scalar nonlinear Schroedinger equation with decreasing boundary conditions is analyzed using numerical simulation methods. The formation of a stable two-soliton solution is observed, which exhibits breather dynamics at a nonzero speed of motion. (author)
