Position sensitive detector for polarized neutron spectrometer

Description
Thermal neutron linear detector designed in the JINR Laboratory of High Energies is peculiar for the JINR Ibr-2 reactor polarized neutron spectrometer to record thermal neutrons. Information is accumulated in the course of frame-by-frame photography to discern neutrons with λ = 1-12 A wave length as to time of flight. The efficiency of neutron recording constitutes about 70% for 2 A wave length. The detector is low sensitive to γ-radiation, is of about 1.5% differential nonlinearity and is of about 1.5 mm space resolution at about 105 events per second counting rates

Разработанный в Лаборатории высоких энергий ОИЯИ линейный детектор тепловых нейтронов предназначен для регистрации тепловых нейтронов на спектрометре поляризованных нейтронов реактора ИБР-2 ОИЯИ. Набор информации ведется в режиме кадровой съемки для выделения нейтронов с длиной волны λ = 1-12 А по времени пролета. Эффективность регистрации нейтронов составляет ∼ 70 % для длины волны 2 А. Детектор имеет низкую чувствительность к γ-излучению, дифференциальную нелинейность ∼ 1.5% и пространственное разрешение ∼ 1.5 мм при скоростях счета ∼ 105 событий за секундуAdditional details
