MR imaging of palpable head and neck masses
Description
The authors examined 57 patient with palpable head and neck masses with MR. Surface coils were used for most cases. Pathology included cystic masses (six patients), inflammatory masses (three patients), vascular masses (six patients), lipoma (five patients), parotid masses (four patients), lymph nodes (21 patients), thyroid masses (two patients), and miscellaneous (ten patients). Coronal and sagittal MR imaging facilitated lesion localization and delineation of disease extent in the craniocaudad axis. This exhibit illustrates clinically important anatomic relationships delineated by MR imaging of palpable head and neck masses
