Luminescent and generation characteristics of neodymium-aluminium borate crystals

Description
Luminescent and generation characteristics of the laser material of NdAl 3 [BO 3] 4 neodymium-aluminium borate have been studied. Kinetics of luminescence attenuation of the Nd3+ from F sub( 3/2) level was investigated upon excitation of the second harmonics of neodymium laser. It has been established that for low power densities of the excitation source an exponential luminescence attenuation is observed with a time constant tau=15+-mcs. With increasing excitaton power density, attenuation becomes nonexpotential. It has been shown, that NdAl-borate can be considered as a promising material for lasers with semiconductor emitters
