Sorption of boron by hydrated zirconium dioxide prepared by the sol-gel method

Description

This paper discusses the sorption method of boron by hydrated zirconium dioxide (HZD) synthesized by the sol-gel method. HZD gel spheres washed of electrolytes were used as the starting samples. The optimum conditions in preparation of the sorbent are drying of the hydrogel in air to a constnat weight. The dependence of sorption of boron by HZD on the pH is extreme in nature. The total reversibility of the sorption process permits repeatedly using the sorbent in sorption-desorption cycles
