Method to separate hydrogen fluoride from an uranium hexafluoride-hydrogen fluoride mixture
Description
It is difficult to separate off HF in the purification of UF6 from additional compounds. According to the invention, it is possible without too greater effort to form the hardly volatile tri-(perfluorobutyl)-ammonium fluoride by adding a perfluorate amine or a derivate of it, and then to separate off the UF6 from the adduct by simple distillation or sublimation. The adduct can be easily split again with NaOH, so that the amine can be used again without loss. (RW)

(RW)Files
