Comments, criticisms and conclusions
Description
Past comments and criticisms on the environmental and social impact of oil related developments in Scotland and their management are summarized. They take in the context of urgency and uncertainty surrounding the energy resource development of the North Sea and the planning and policy responses of local authorities and central government. From the experience gained, some lessons for other countries preparing to bring gas or oil ashore are suggested. (UK)
