Pulsed reactor sources
Description
A brief outline is given of pulsed reactor kinetics and optimization of performance. Applications of pulsed reactors are discussed including neutron scattering, radiochemistry and activation analysis, pulse testing of reactor fuel elements, nuclear pumped laser experiments and neutron radiography. A survey of the worldwide distribution of pulsed reactors ispresented and the general characteristics of the two main types of pulsed reactors-fast burst and pulsed thermal reactors- are given.
