A status report on the Gif-sur-Yvette AMS facility

Description

We discuss here developments carried out at the Gif-sur-Yvette Tandetron based AMS facility since AMS-8. These include installation of an automatic sample changer, measurement of 41Ca by three different procedures (PXD, CaH3- injection and CaF3- injection), limits of detection for 79Se and 126Sn obtained by the PXD technique, and some preliminary tests with U beams. We also briefly review the research programmes being pursued by the CSNSM at this facility. Finally, we discuss future prospects when the 14C activities at this facility are transferred to a new AMS facility in Saclay at the beginning of 2003
