Identification of the 1250-cm-1 Raman feature in YBa2Cu3O6

Description
We have resolved the controversy over the origin of a feature in the Raman spectra of semiconducting YBa2Cu3O6 near 1250 cm-1. We find that, upon isotopic replacement of 16O by 18O, the feature softens by about 5%, thus identifying it as of phononic origin
