Description
Genesis research on amphibole, a mineral with metamorphic characteristics of basic rock in Northwestern province Zambia, has significant assist for the explanation of the deformation characteristics and conditions metamorphism. we analyzed the elements and studied the temperature-pressure condition for amphibole from the basic rock by using electron microprobe, amphibole geothemobarometer and manometer. Results show that amphibole from the basic rock is Ferropargasite, mostly with metamorphism, few with alteration and metasomatism, under the pressure from 600 to 900 MPa, at the metamorphic temperature from 545℃ to 667℃. The rock of metamorphic grade is mainly epidote-amphiboles facie. The metamorphism occurred in Lufilian Orogeny, was of mid-die-pressure high-temperature type, correlated with compression and nappe tectonic. (authors)
