Paleoecological interpretation of the selected Early Permian localities of the Boskovice Basin (Czech Republic) with use of the stable isotop 13C and 18O (preliminary results)

Description
Stable isotop analysis was used in this study for the first time in the Boskovice Basin for the characterization of the paleoecological conditions. We selected four Early Permian localities with available fosiliferous 'stegocephal horizons' in the district of the town Letovice ('Siruckovo pole', Koladoruby- 'Dolni Peprik') and Boskovice (Bacov, Obora). The carbonate isotop analysis showed the closed limnic system with a few probably arid events. The presence of the hopanes points to the chemical precursors of the bacteria and cyanobacteria, which may cause an eutrophication of the water and mass death of the amphibian larvae and fish.
